The duration of the student exchange is a minimum of one and a maximum of two semesters.
Higher education institutions provide full recognition of the educational activities undertaken by students during their period of study at the host institution.
Students may participate in the Farabi Exchange Program once at each level of education. However, throughout their entire educational life, a student may participate in the Farabi Exchange Program as a scholarship student only once and for one semester.
Students who are entitled to receive a Farabi Exchange Program scholarship are provided with a monthly scholarship equivalent to one and a half times the monthly scholarship amount paid to undergraduate students under Law No. 5102 on Scholarships and Loans for Higher Education Students.
70% of the total scholarship amount is paid to the student during the period of study, while the remaining 30% is paid based on the student's certificate of participation and academic achievement.
Students enrolled in the preparatory year or first year of associate or undergraduate programs, as well as students enrolled in Master's and Doctoral programs, cannot benefit from the program during their preparatory or scientific preparatory periods or during the first semester in which they begin their regular education.
Applicants must be enrolled as associate, undergraduate, Master's, or Doctoral students in formal (on-campus) higher education programs.
For application, the student's General Academic Grade Point Average (GPA) must be at least 2.00/4.00 or 53.33/100 for associate and undergraduate students.
For Master's or Doctoral students, the GPA must be at least 2.50/4.00 or 65/100.
A foreign language proficiency threshold applies to students applying for the Farabi Program if the program in which they are enrolled is taught in a foreign language.
Students applying to the Farabi Program should take into consideration the quotas specified in the bilateral agreements (protocols) valid for the academic year for which they are applying.
